The NSO 2022 will be an individual and team based tournament for Elementary students (ages 10 – 14) and Secondary Students (aged 13 – 17). The NSO is part of the Foundation’s strategy to support excellence in science education
The NSO 2022 will be the first Hybrid National Science Olympiad.
The Secondary Category Students will have three competition rounds notably;
The Primary Category Students will equally have three competition rounds notably;
The Research Paper for secondary category students will be a month-long project that students will attend to in the month of March. Team Contests and Science Fights will be conducted online during the first term holiday.
While the Theory Examinations will primarily be done online, participating schools can choose to have them written in a physical setting i.e. at their respective schools. In such a case, SOFU will dispatch an examinations team to the respective school on the assigned date to deliver, invigilate the examination.

Qualifying students / schools can register to compete in the Uganda National Science Olympiad 2022 via https://forms.gle/YciiMkPRaU1aRgGr7 no later than 05th March, 2022. The tournament fee has been set to UGX. 4000 per student. However, schools opting for physical examinations will be charged UGX. 7000 per participant.
